With the integration of Industry 4.0 and the overall increase of automation there is a high demand for efficient software support. Not always is a specialist onsite, however a seamless production has to be kept up to meet the customers’ needs. In order to minimize downtime of a production line while at the same time saving traveling costs for software support experts, PPM is developing tools for remote support solutions. These consist of gathering, processing and analysing relevant data from the onsite system such that a remote expert can resolve possible problems fast and efficient. Through these tools it is not only possible to advise a local operator on the workshop floor through multi modal communication but also to remote operate crucial elements of the production system.
